From October 1908 to May 1927, Ford Motor Company produced the Ford Model T (commonly known as Tin Lizzie, Model T, or simply T). It was generally driven by the middle-class American given the T’s affordability; this was made possible by Ford’s proficient fabrication that included production line as alternative to hand crafting.

Prior the T’s inception in 1908, automobiles already existed long. However, because they were expensive and regarded as excessive luxury, they were scarce and few people only afforded to buy them until the Model T.

The Model T made the year 1908 a historic year when the automobile was greatly embraced by the mass population. Interestingly to know, the Model T was the first mass-produced automobile with exchangeable parts. This is what Henry Ford had to say about this car:

"I will build a car for the great multitude. It will be large enough for the family, but small enough for the individual to run and care for. It will be constructed of the best materials, by the best men to be hired, after the simplest designs that modern engineering can devise. But it will be so low in price that no man making a good salary will be unable to own one – and enjoy with his family the blessing of hours of pleasure in God's great open spaces."

TRIVIA

The Model T was used in the movie “Village of the Giants”, released in 1965.
