1924 Dodge Brothers Business Coupe - Classic Cars

 1924 Dodge Brothers Business Coupe

Not often do you come across special pieces like this, even when you have been in the business most of your life. Since its first production in Seattle WA, it has remained here for almost 91 years. It is really surprising that it still drives as it would have in 1924. Most of it seems to be in original condition and well preserved.

The windows are chain operated and still functioning; rear curtains still tacked, tilt out front windshield, original wood flooring with production and patented pending plates. Original wood framing is still in its expected preserved condition. Original hand carved wood steering wheel. Clutch and mechanical brakes feel and operate smooth.

Awesome period correct 32" solid steel wheels with original stamped DB lug nuts; slim line white walls are like new, including the spare tire. Trunk lid is opening smoothly and what appears to be rust free. All metal and wood works have been preserved over several decades, something which is not expected.

The exterior was painted black, had a touch up at one point and live over the last 90 years. It seems like this car was wonderfully kept in a time capsule.

This car has a 12v factory electrical system with original glass headlight stamped DB. All interior and exterior lights work on turn off key knob. The original rear brake light says "stop" when brake pedal is pressed.

What I love most about this piece of automotive history that I have been lucky enough to acquire is its uniqueness and size. This business coupe, when parked beside a model T or a later model A towers over them like a full size truck. It is truly a unique piece of automotive history.

As I look at it, it seems like there is a transition point between the end of the stage coach to a new machine powered undercarriage and functioning mechanical brakes system. The cab portion of this model looks like a stage coach to me. For me, I thought, the dodge brother was ahead of the game during its time. They had a handful of patents on their Business coupe.

This is a one of a kind car, sound piece, with all documents supporting its 90+ years of life in Seattle WA, including original sells / build sheet with VIN and purchase dates. The car dealership’s business card with the salesperson’s name is still intact. Original dealership stamped plate, mounted on passenger side and the floor board below the dodge brother stamped plate installed when sold in 1924.

I don’t get to say this often but this is a True Barn find. This is truly a great and unique piece for the serious collectors out there.

I can send videos and additional pictures to those who are interested.
